1. Environmental Preservation of Minor Forest Produce (MFPs)

Samarthak Samiti facilitates the production and sustenance of Minor Forest Produce (MFPs) to preserve the natural environment while improving the livelihoods of poor communities. Specifically, this program provides training workshops on horticulture, MFP cultivation, vegetable gardening, agroforestry, and harvesting technologies. These workshops are intended to raise awareness and provide the necessary technical skills to protect the forests in surrounding lands.

Program Information

 

1. Feeding Program

This program is related to RUSH’s Home-Based Care (HBC) plan which provides medical care to persons living with HIV/AIDS who are unable to make hospital visits. While many patients benefit from government-subsidized antiretroviral drugs (ARVs), the efficacy of this treatment is greatly reduced if it is not supplemented with proper nutrition. For many of the group’s HIV-positive members, RUSH’s feeding program plays an important role in providing the additional nutrition required to support the therapy.
